Thank you for visiting 63073, a community site with information about the 63073 zip code area. This area is located in Franklin County, just over the boundary line from St. Louis County off of Highway T and is the zip code exclusively for the planned community of St. Albans Missouri. St. Albans has a rich history. The majority of land that the community now occupies was once part of the 7,000 acres owned by Oscar and Irene Johnson. The Johnsons were wealthy and promenient St. Louisans because Oscar was the head of the International Shoe Company. Their home in St. Albans was built around 1917 and designed by the famous St. Louis architect, Theodore Link who designed the historic St. Louis Union Station. The Johnson home is now The Studio Inn and has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Two stone silos are all that is left of the barn of the Johnson's very prosporous St. Albans Dairy Farm. The barn was also designed by Theodore Link and had been placed on the National Register of Historic Places but was unfortunately razed when it became too deteriorated and no funds available to repair it. Another historic landmark located in St. Albans is the Heads General Store which has been in operation since 1892. The private, Country Club of St. Albans features two 18 hole golf courses as well as a Clubhouse, outdoor junior Olympic-sized swimming pool, tennis courts, and more. The residents of 63073 are served by the School District of Washington, a public school district. Located within the community is The Fulton School at St. Albans, a private, PK-12 grade school.
St Albans is about an hour west of Downtown St Louis via Interstate 64 or Interstate 44. Important roads for the community are Highway T, Manchester Road/Highway 100, St Albans Road, Bassett Road, Melrose Road, Cedars Valley Road, St Andrews Drive, Wings Road and others.
