· Bill to allow concealed weapons on Missouri Campuses moves forward – The Missouri House of Representatives passed house bill 668 which, if passed by the Senate and signed by the Governor, would allow the carrying of concealed firearms on the campuses of the University of Missouri. -

· Truck Driver Charged with Involuntary Manslaughter – The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney has filed charges alleging three counts of involuntary manslaughter against Jeffery Knight of Muscle Shoals Alabama. Knight, a truck driver, crashed into stopped vehicles on highway 40 in July 2008 killing three people and injuring several others. -

· President Obama Claims to have saved or created 150,000 Jobs – During his prime-time news conference yesterday President Barack Obama claimed that his recovery act has saved or created over 150,00 jobs. This has fueled a flurry or articles and blogs today questioning the accuracy of the statement. -

· Budget Deficit: That wasn't me says President Obama – Speaking at Fox High School in Arnold yesterday President Obama said, when referring to the projected 2009 deficit of $480+ billion "That wasn't me". -

· The Missouri House approves bill to protect secret union ballot – On Monday of this week, the Missouri House of Representatives passed the controversial bill to protect secret ballots in union elections. If passed by the Senate it will be put to a vote of the people of Missouri. -

· Atty General Koster Files Motion to Shut Down Peerless Landfill – Yesterday, Attorney General Koster filed a motion to force Peerless Landfill, Inc. a demolition landfill in St. Louis County, to shut down for noncompliance of an earlier consent judgment that required it to have a working system to control methane gas emitted by the landfill, as well as to have an insurance mechanism for the continued working of the system. -

· Man charged with kidnapping East St Louis Woman – Yesterday a 24 year old man from East St Louis was charged with kidnapping a woman after she dropped off her child at school on Monday. -

· Ameren Corporation Directors Elect Karen Foss, Senior Vice President, Communications and Brand Manag – Foss joined AmerenUE in February 2007 as vice president, Public Relations. · The U.S. House Passes a $3.5 Trillion Budget – The vote basically followed party lines with 233 Democrats voting in favor and 17 voting along with 176 Republicans against the resolution for the budget. -

· St. Louis to receive millions for research – St. Louis institutions will receive millions of dollars in grants to, partially from the Obama administration stimulus package. -

· East St. Louis crime in the spotlight – US Attorney A. Courtney Cox has a plan and a mission to reduce crime in the greater East St. Louis area. At the same time Alvin Parks, East St. Louis Mayor, said that despite pressure from the East St. Louis City Council, said that bars and nightclubs will continue to serve alcohol until the 6 a.m. -
